What is the ServeReady™ Warm & Protect Kitchen Set?
It's the WarmKeep Adjustable Mat paired with the HeatGuard Non-Slip Placemat. The WarmKeep is a flexible heated mat that keeps served dishes hot at the table. The HeatGuard sits under whatever appliance you've been cooking with, so the heat lands on it instead of on your benchtop.
How does the WarmKeep mat keep food warm?
A heating film inside the silicone gives gentle warmth evenly across the whole surface rather than one hot spot, so a plate sitting on it doesn't scorch on one side. An automatic temperature regulator holds the setting and stops it overheating. It keeps cooked food hot, so it's for holding a meal at temperature rather than cooking or reheating it.
Can I use it on my dining table or benchtop?
Yes. Raised bumps on the underside lift the heated surface off whatever it's sitting on, so heat dissipates instead of building up underneath. It's fine on granite, quartz and timber. It's an indoor appliance, so keep it away from water, don't use it outdoors, and never run it under a tablecloth or anything that traps heat.
Can I put a hot pan straight from the oven on either of them?
The placemat is the one for that. It's built to take heat from a hot base or a dish coming out of the oven. The WarmKeep runs at a much lower temperature and is meant for food that's already plated, so keep oven-hot cookware off it.
How do I clean them?
Unplug the WarmKeep and let it cool completely, then wipe it with a damp cloth. Never submerge it, put it in the dishwasher or rinse it under a tap, because it's an electrical appliance. The placemat is the easy one: wipe it or rinse it off and it's ready for the next night.
How do they store?
The WarmKeep rolls up once it's cooled, so it slides into a drawer or stands in a cupboard rather than taking up bench space. The placemat lies flat in the same spot or stays where it is under your appliance.
